Since it supports ACT to ACT merges too, this means you can MOVE users from one database to another. Note: passwords in the target database are set to blank in this type of a merge. Subject: Questions about OAK!Merge How can I identify Contacts that are in 2 ACT! databases? i.e. find the dups? ———- ANSWER OAK!Merge can update a field, or add contacts to a group, for all the contact records that are in both databases. You can pick the fields to match on to determine if they are dups. Example: Assume you have • Database S with 15,000 contacts (the Source database) • Database T with 8,000 contacts (the Target database) • 2,000 of the contacts in Database T have exactly the same Contact Name, Company, and City as in Database S • You can use OAK!Merge to UPDATE a field in Database T of the 2000 dups to indicate it is also in Database S or you could add the 2000 contacts to a GROUP in Database T or both.
